Passwords to open income tax files and e-Aadhaar

In this post we have listed passwords used to open various income tax files and e-Aadhaar.

What is the password to open an e-PAN card?

The e-PAN card PDF is Password Protected. 

The password to access the PAN card is your date of birth, which is to be entered in the format of ddmmyyyy.

What is the password for Form 16?

Form 16 is a certificate issued by the employer to the employee for deducting tax from salary. Form 16 is always password protected.

The password to open the Form 16 would be the first 5 characters of the PAN number in uppercase i.e. capital letters and  Date of Birth of the employee in DDMMYYYY format.

That means if your PAN number is AAAPI0789Z and the date of birth is 1st April 1990, then your password for Form 16 would be AAAPI01041990.

Same password combination can be used to open Form 16A, which is the first 5 characters of the PAN number in uppercase i.e. capital letters and  Date of Birth of the employee in DDMMYYYY format.

For extracting TDS Consolidated fileTAN_request numberIf your TAN is MUMR03066R and file request number is 1083, then password should be:

MUMR03066R_1083
For extracting TDS Certificates ZIP FileTAN In Upper CaseIf your TAN is AAAA11111A, then password should be:-

AAAA11111A

Password to open Annual Information Statement (AIS)

The downloaded PDF will be password protected. To open the file, you will need to enter the combination of the PAN (in lowercase) and the date of birth in case of individual taxpayer or date of incorporation / formation for non-individual taxpayer in the format ddmmyyyy without any space. For example, if the PAN is AAAAA1234A and the date of birth is 21st January 1991 then your password will be aaaaa1234a21011991

What Is the Password of e-Aadhaar?

Combination of the first 4 letters of name in CAPITAL and the year of birth (YYYY) as password.

For Example:

Password: SURE1990

Example 2

Name: SAI KUMAR

Year of Birth: 1990

Password: SAIK1990

Example 3

Name: P. KUMAR

Year of Birth: 1990
